My house is silent! Yippeee! I’m hiding from the interns and sneaking a blog post.
The garden is coming along quite nicely. We have 5 farm interns here, two of whom are working on building projects with Robert. He hasn’t said anything, but I can tell he is stoked to have two youngsters following him around and wanting to talk about wood all day long. Pretty much all of the garden is in and we’re just working to weed, finish the irrigation, mulch, etc. We’re eating the last of the spring broccoli, and just starting on garlic scapes, radishes, and fresh basil.
I’ve also managed to get a bit of spinning done lately. And even some knitting! I’m working on an entrelec headband-and trying to wrap up the two sweaters I started back in Feb. They’re done, just need to block and add buttons. I’ll post photos when they’re ready. But I thought I might just post a photo of another way to use an outdoor swing. It’s my summer blocking method. I normally have weighted dowels on the bottoms but I’d already removed them.
And here is a little photo of my house from the backyard:
I really need to work on my felting kits. I designed and photographed them a couple of months ago but I haven’t packaged them up yet. I’m hoping to have a bunch ready for Urban Craft Uprising in July. The kits are super cute–here are some photos:
