I had a partial skein of a 2 ply yarn and wanted to knit something mindless to give myself a break from the entrelec project. I used 60 yards of a worsted weight yarn (here’s the link https://www.etsy.com/listing/152460341/handspun-yarn-hand-painted-handmade) to make a very simple but wide, comfy, and lovely headband. Did I mention it is ridiculously simple?
I used a pair of size 7 needles ( I knit loosely and most will want to use size 8s).
Cast on 60 stitches
Knit Rows 1-5
Row 6 Purl (wrong side)
Row 7 Knit (right side)
Row 8 Purl
Repeat Rows 1-8 2 more times
Knit last 4 rows, cast off (I use a semi-stretchy bind off).
You should have four rows of garter stitch with three rows of stockinette.
Join edges and sew together. viola!
